The early production of drug packaging in China mainly relied on manual labor. However, due to the quality of packaging materials and the inability of drug box processing and production in China to meet the requirements of machine packaging at that time, the packaging machine could not be used normally. After the 1980s, the related technologies in the field of pharmaceutical production in China developed rapidly, and significant progress was made in the production technology and quality of mechanical cardboard boxes. Packaging machines are beginning to be applied in the pharmaceutical industry. At this point, packaging machines have also changed the situation of foreign products unifying the world. In addition, in addition to packaging machines suitable for ointments, domestic packaging machines with bubble cover plates began to be used in the 1990s. Some pharmaceutical companies with large production volumes have started using domestic packaging machines instead of manual packaging. Some domestic pharmaceutical machinery enterprises are also continuously developing and producing more comprehensive packaging machines, such as the plaster packaging production line produced by Zhejiang Shenglei Company.
Definition of Box Loading Machine:
In the upcoming pharmaceutical machinery terminology (GB/T15692) standard, packaging machinery is defined as machinery that can complete the packaging of drugs such as opening boxes, inserting user manuals, packaging bottles, blister boards, hoses, etc. And it will be arranged in the external packaging machinery of drug packaging materials (8.2) in the project. At the same time, the composition of the packaging machinery includes the manual folding machine, multifunctional folding machine, continuous tongue insertion box machine, intermittent tongue insertion box machine, continuous paste paste box machine, and intermittent paste box machine.
The particularity of packaging machines in the pharmaceutical industry:
The application of packaging machines in the pharmaceutical industry has its particularity. According to Article 4603 of the GMP Certification, Inspection, and Evaluation Standards for Drugs, drug packaging printed with the same content as the label should be managed according to the label. In other words, the management of drug packaging boxes is equivalent to labeling. Based on the particularity of drug packaging boxes, it also extends the particularity of pharmaceutical packaging machines. Its particularity:
(1) To insert drug instructions;
(2) The cardboard box should be randomly printed with production date, product batch number, expiration date, etc. (such as special drug supervision code);
(3) Count statistics of packaging (should comply with the count distribution requirements in Article 4703 of the GMP "Certification Inspection and Evaluation Standards");
(4) Quality inspection of inner packaging drugs;
(5) Able to adapt to the requirements of batch changes/times. For other packaging machines, these special points do not need to be fully achieved.
